Russky Technopark supported FEFU students in organizing the Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals
On March 12-14, 2020, Russky Technopark supported the youth-led organization Model United Nations of the Russian Far East in organizing the Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG Workshop). The project organized by Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) students was devoted to the SDGs implementation in Russia through innovations and startups. At the SDG Workshop, Russky Technopark residents spoke about SDGs connection to new technologies and focused on four specific Goals: "Good Health and Well-being" (SDG 3), "Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), "Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure" (SDG 9), and "Life Below Water" (SDG 14).

In order to proceed, four student groups were distributed among selected SDGs accompanied by Russky Technopark residents. The implementation of SDG 3 was discussed in frames of the "Life Tracker" project with its CEO Vladimir Goltsov. According to Vladimir, Life Tracker is a mobile app created for effective general health assessment. "Flamelab" company CEO Konstantin Tsoi assisted participants in the integration of SDG 7 into his technology of electrical and heat energy gas generation. Innovative development of SDG 9 was considered in frames of "Tomoru" project, the platform for AI-Based chat bots, presented by Anna Eremeeva. Finally, SDG 14 was discussed from the perspective of the Far Eastern cosmetic brand "Pentakan". Created by Olga Trofimova, the brand produces medical cosmetics from holothurians extract.
Together with their startup experts, participants identified the most pressing challenges of sustainable development in the region, found successful examples of sustainable practices in startups, and presented their ideas of SDGs realization through startups at the regional and global levels. Overall, three days of the Workshop brought an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in startups and innovations from the Russky Technopark residents, and to learn more about their projects from the perspective of sustainable development to FEFU students of different schools and majors.

"Young people are getting more interested in global trends on ecological production, renewable energy resources, and innovative development. That is why Russky Technopark, while implementing its mission on establishment of the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem on the Russian Far East, devotes its maximum attention to work with FEFU students in terms of sharing the world's best practices", – commented Vitaly Savenkov, Advisor on International Relations at Russky Technopark.
